Who it is for

  • CDL learner permit holders and new CDL drivers who want to add one or more endorsements: hazmat (H), tank (N), doubles/triples (T), passenger (P) or school bus (S)
  • Drivers whose target job needs a specific endorsement (fuel or propane delivery, linehaul doubles, bus or school bus driving) and who want to know exactly what to study
  • Drivers planning the hazmat endorsement who need the TSA and training steps in the right order
  • Non-native English speakers who want the rules in short, plain English with the numbers in tables

Who it is not for

  • Anyone looking for a replacement for their state CDL manual or for the entry-level driver training required for H, P and S: you still need both
  • Drivers who still need the core tests: General Knowledge, Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles are covered by our CDL practice pack, not by this guide
  • Hazmat employees looking for the employer training required on the job: this guide prepares the endorsement knowledge test only

Questions before you buy

Isn't all of this in my state CDL manual for free?

Yes, the official facts are free and you should read your manual. This guide does not replace it. It puts each endorsement in one chapter with the federal rule behind it, turns the numbers into tables, shows where manuals disagree or are out of date, and adds 150 explained practice questions, a job chart and the TSA hazmat steps in order.

Will it work for my state?

Endorsements are federal, and state manuals follow the same sections, so the content carries over. Some numbers differ: the guide shows the New York and California numbers side by side where they differ (school bus danger zones, amber lamps, placard size) and gives you a table for your own state's numbers. Your state's manual is the one your test uses.

Are these the real test questions?

No. The 150 questions are original, written by passmock from the New York and California manuals and the federal rules cited in the guide. They are not questions from any real test.

Does it cover the General Knowledge or Air Brakes test?

No. It covers the five endorsement tests (H, N, T, P, S). The core tests are in our CDL practice pack.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is a one-off payment for a PDF you keep.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, it is a PDF that opens on any phone, tablet or computer, and it prints well if you prefer paper for the practice tests.
