Who it is for

  • Nurse aide students and graduates with a skills test date, in a state that uses the NNAAP (Credentia) or Prometric
  • Candidates who failed a skill and want to re-learn it step by step from the score report
  • Non-native English speakers who want the steps and the words to say in short, plain English (the NNAAP test is given in English, and you must talk to your partner in English)
  • Instructors and study partners who need checklists to score a mock test

Who it is not for

  • Anyone looking for a replacement for their nurse aide training program or for their own state handbook: you still need both
  • Candidates in states with their own skills list (for example states that use D&S Diversified Technologies / Headmaster): the method helps, but the steps differ
  • Anyone who only needs the written exam: the CNA written practice pack covers that

Questions before you buy

Isn't the skills list free in my candidate handbook?

Yes. Your handbook (Credentia, Prometric or another vendor) lists the skills for free, and you should read it. This guide does not replace it. It turns each skill into a numbered checklist in plain English, marks the critical steps, adds the mistakes that fail them, shows how Prometric differs, and adds a time plan, practice logs, a helper's score sheet and 60 explained questions.

Which states does it cover?

It follows the NNAAP skills list as published in the South Carolina Credentia handbook, and the Prometric checklist and Florida bulletin. Many states use the NNAAP or Prometric, but each state publishes its own handbook. Compare your handbook with the guide: Chapter 2 has a page to note the differences.

Are these the official steps?

No. The steps are paraphrased in our own words, in the same order as the handbook listing, so you can compare them. The official wording is the one in your handbook. The 60 questions are original, not questions from the real test.

Is it a subscription?

No. It is a one-off payment for a PDF you keep.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes, it is a PDF that opens on any phone, tablet or computer. The checklists and logs are made to be printed, so a helper can tick them while you practice.
